Alright besties, let's talk about keeping those gorgeous extensions looking their absolute best! As your lash artist, I want to make sure you're armed with all the knowledge you need to rock your extensions with confidence. Since we use Novalash, a super-strong adhesive that's instantly waterproof and oilproof, we can skip some of the usual "don'ts" and focus on what really matters for amazing, long-lasting lashes.

Hygiene is #1
First things first, let's chat about hygiene. Clean lashes are happy lashes! Even though our Novalash adhesive is oil-resistant, buildup from makeup, natural oils, and just everyday life can still affect retention and the overall look of your extensions.
Daily Cleansing is a Must: Don't be afraid to wash your lashes! Use a gentle, foaming lash cleanser specifically designed for extensions. Apply a small amount to a clean eyeshadow brush (or similar) and gently work it through your lashes, paying attention to the base where the extensions are attached.
Gentle Drying: After cleansing, pat your lashes dry with a clean, lint-free cloth or let them air dry. Avoid rubbing or pulling on them.
Brush, Brush, Brush: A clean mascara wand (or spoolie) is your best friend! Gently brush your lashes daily to keep them separated and prevent tangling. This also helps remove any loose debris.
Boosting Retention for Maximum Glam
We all want our extensions to last as long as possible, right? Here are a few tips to maximize retention:
Gentle Touch: Avoid rubbing or pulling on your lashes, especially when they're wet. This can weaken the adhesive bond and cause extensions to fall out prematurely.
Sleep Smart: If you're a face-down sleeper, consider switching to a silk or satin pillowcase. This will minimize friction and prevent your lashes from getting crushed.
Regular Fills: Regular fill appointments are crucial for maintaining the fullness and shape of your lash extensions. As your natural lashes shed, so do the extensions attached to them. Fills help replace these lost extensions and keep your lash line looking lush.
Keeping Those Fans Open and Clean
Those beautiful, fanned-out extensions are a work of art! Here's how to keep them looking their best:
Proper Cleansing Technique: When cleansing, use a downward sweeping motion to ensure you're cleaning between the fans and not just the tips.
Air Drying is Key: Let your lashes air dry as much as possible. This helps maintain the fan shape and prevents them from clumping together.
Spoolie Love: Gently use a clean spoolie to separate and fluff your lashes after they're dry. This will help open up the fans and give them that perfect, wide-eyed look.
Avoid Excessive Steam or Heat: While Novalash is robust, excessive exposure to direct, intense heat, like from a sauna, could possibly weaken the bond over a long period of time. Normal showers and daily life are fine.
